BELLINGHAM, Wash. —

A man with at least five prior drunken driving convictions in 20 years was sentenced Thursday in Bellingham to more than four years in prison for his latest conviction.

Warren Joe McCutchen pleaded guilty this week in Whatcom County Superior Court to drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and vehicular assault.

Court records say the 64-year-old took his 70-year-old fiancée out of a wheelchair last February and put her on the back of his motorcycle which he crashed. He had a blood alcohol content of .21 percent.

The Bellingham Herald reports ( http://is.gd/hCAr54) that as a result of injuries from the crash the woman went to live in a nursing home.
