KINGSTON, Wash. —

A Washington State Patrol trooper says three people have died after two vehicles crashed outside Kingston.

Trooper Russ Winger says the crash happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday on state highway 104.

KOMO News reports those killed were a 59-year-old woman and a man and woman, both 44.

Investigators say that one of the vehicles crossed the middle lane and struck the other. There were no immediate signs of alcohol.

Investigators closed the state highway for hours, which is heavily used by ferry commuters.
