An Oregon man and a Washington state woman pleaded not guilty in federal court in Las Vegas in what prosecutors allege was a $3 million investment fraud involving a longtime Clark County judge.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports ( http://bit.ly/SMXhEf) that a U.S. magistrate judge let 54-year-old Mark Hansen and 68-year-old Constance Fenton remain free pending trial Jan. 8 with Family Court Judge Steven Jones and three other defendants.

The 54-year-old Jones previously pleaded not guilty and remains free. He's accused of using the power of his office to support a scheme that prosecutors say was headed by his 55-year-old former brother-in-law, Thomas A. Cecrle Jr.

Cecrle has also pleaded not guilty to charges contained in a 20-count indictment unsealed Oct. 31 alleging mail, wire and securities fraud and money laundering.
