With daylight Tuesday, rangers and other searchers are making another attempt to rescue two snowboarders stranded on Mount Rainier.
The national park says searchers had a brief sighting Monday of two men believed to be 21-year-old Derek Tyndall and 20-year-old Thomas Dale. But they were unable to reach them before darkness and weather forced them back.
The two had no overnight gear when they were caught in a snowstorm Sunday on the way down from Camp Muir. They dug a snow cave and called for help.
Park spokesman Kevin Bacher (BOCK'-er) says at last report the men were cold, but not hurt.
Dozens of people are involved in the search which is focused in the McClure Rock area at an elevation of about 7,500 feet on the lower Paradise Glacier.
