LONGMIRE, Wash. —

Rescue crews are trying to reach two snowboarders who were stranded on Mount Rainier overnight in heavy snow.

Park rangers tell KING-TV (http://is.gd/yUFWFp) the two men, 20 and 21, called 911 at 7 a.m. Monday to say they had taken shelter in a cave and were not hurt.

The two set off snowboarding Sunday but got caught in the weather.

They're believed to be several thousand feet above the Paradise parking lot.

Olympic Mountain Rescue's Roger Beckett says his group sent 10 members of their advanced team Monday morning to help with the rescue. He says members of Tacoma Mountain Rescue are also assisting park rangers.
