The president of Washington State University has asked the athletic department and the Pac-12 separately to review recent allegations about the football program.
The move comes one day after star receiver Marquess Wilson quit the football team, blaming the coaching staff for what he called abuse of players.
Wilson said in a press release Saturday that he left the program because of the actions of first-year coach Mike Leach and his staff. He said the new staff has "preferred to belittle, intimidate and humiliate us" and that included physical abuse.
WSU President Eldon Floyd says in a statement Sunday that he asked the athletic department to report findings and conclusions as soon as possible. Floyd said reviews from both the Pac-12 and the athletic department "should get to the bottom of the matter."
