A downtown Everett building is so unstable after a three-alarm fire, investigators are unable to go inside Friday to look for an apartment resident who has not been accounted for.
City spokeswoman Kate Reardon says the roof collapsed and it may take several days to stabilize the four walls.
Flames broke out about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the two-story, 13-unit building near Comcast Arena and burned into Friday morning. Two people watching the fire downwind were treated for smoke inhalation.
Reardon says the 118-year-old building had apartments upstairs and a flea market, pizza parlor and cabinet shop on the main floor.
Reardon says the adjacent street may be blocked for several days and traffic for a Saturday night concert at Comcast Arena will be affected.
