Oregon Transportation Department officials say a small airplane made a successful emergency landing Thursday afternoon on State Highway 11 in northeast Oregon.
It touched down in Athena, about 17 miles east of Pendleton.
Oregon State Police briefly closed the road so the plane could be moved off the main highway and closed it again for a short time to allow the plane to take off.
KNDU-TV reports there was no immediate word on the reason for the emergency landing.
