YAKIMA, Wash. —

A Yakima man has been arrested on his eighth drunken driving charge, making the latest one a felony.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports (http://bit.ly/QdOwae) that 47-year-old Alfred Earle Brown faces up to eight years in prison if he's convicted of the charge filed Friday in Yakima County Superior Court. His record includes convictions for seven DUIs and two vehicular assaults.

Brown was arrested by Union Gap police Tuesday night after he was stopped for speeding.

Charging documents say Brown showed obvious signs of intoxication and was taken to the hospital for a forcible blood-draw after he refused to perform a field sobriety test or take a breath test.

Brown remains in custody in the Yakima County jail on $100,000 bail.
