An 18-year-old man has been charged with assault after being accused of causing a bonfire explosion that burned three other people.
KOMO News reports (http://is.gd/xQEBDW) the students were celebrating the end of high school by burning homework in a bonfire at Seattle's Alki beach in June.
Authorities say that Marshall Herrick tossed an envelope full of fuel onto the bonfire, causing the explosion. Herrick was also hurt.
According to students, the event was meant to be drug and alcohol free, but witnesses told police that Herrick appeared intoxicated when he sparked the explosion.
Herrick has been charged with three counts of assault for the three students who were hurt in the fire.
