A paperwork mistake could cost the city of Ocean Shores $750,000.
The city clerk failed to forward a complaint from a property owner who blamed road work for flooding.
The Daily World reports (http://is.gd/3Rkbn7) no one from the city showed up in court so the judge entered a default judgment against the cash-strapped city for $750,000.
A lawyer representing the city will ask the judge at a Nov. 5 hearing to have the judgment vacated, arguing that the city clerk made an honest mistake.
