YAKIMA, Wash. —

An inmate in the Yakima County Jail hanged herself early Tuesday with a bedsheet tied to her bunk.

Coroner Jack Hawkins ruled the death of 27-year-old Sheena Totus of Wapato a suicide.

She had been booked into jail Friday on misdemeanor traffic offenses.

The jail's Scott Himes tells the Yakima Herald-Republic (http://is.gd/hdyXHa) Totus was placed alone in a cell because she wasn't getting along with other inmates. She was found hanging 13 minutes after she was last checked.

The jail has more than 600 inmates.
