COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. —

Authorities say a missing 79-year-old Seattle man has been found dead on a logging road near the Douglas-Lane county line in Oregon's Willamette Valley.

Seattle police Detective David Ogard told The Register-Guard on Monday that Sherman Davis suffered from dementia and disappeared last month from an independent living facility in Seattle.

His body was found Friday.

The death is not believed to be suspicious. Ogard says Douglas County sheriff's officers are investigating.
