Authorities say one man has died after a Puget Sound collision between a yacht and a small aluminum boat overturned the smaller boat, dumping its two occupants into the water.
The Coast Guard confirms the Friday afternoon collision occurred about a mile off Seattle.
KOMO-TV reports that the yacht crew and nearby Suquamish police pulled the two men out of the water. One man, reportedly in his 60s, had lost consciousness. He was pronounced dead a short time later despite attempts to revive him. He was not immediately identified.
KOMO says the second man, in his 70s, was alert and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
Seattle police are investigating.
