ARLINGTON, Wash. —

A woman walking on Interstate 5 near Arlington early Tuesday was struck and killed.

The Washington State Patrol says 23-year-old Tara Olson of Tulalip was attempting to cross the freeway just after midnight when she was hit by a car driven by a Ferndale man. He was not injured.

Trooper Keith Leary told The Daily Herald ( http://is.gd/vhH2pV) she had been driving a minivan that was involved in a crash and left that scene.

It was one of three fatalities overnight in the Puget Sound region. A man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a van in Kent, and the driver of a speeding car was killed when he hit a tree in Federal Way.
