A lightning-sparked wildfire on the Yakama Indian Reservation is now 60 percent contained.
Interagency fire management teams report Sunday that the blaze has covered nearly 300 acres since starting on August 19 on the northwest area of the Yakama Nation Reservation.
Favorable weather over the weekend helped crews increase the fire containment from 30 percent to 60 percent.
Incident commander Bob Johnson says crews continue mop up activities, locating and extinguishing any heat within 200 feet of the fire containment line.
He says a helicopter equipped with infrared cameras did not detect any heat outside the firelines on Saturday.
