ANACORTES, Wash. —

The Washington State Patrol says a woman whose license plate was found at the scene of a fatal crash near Anacortes has been arrested.

Troopers say 26-year-old Gisela Carmona-Morena of Mount Vernon was booked into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of hit-and-run.

A 23-year-old Anacortes motorcyclist, Michael McCurdy, died early Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Trooper Keith Leary says McCurdy had slowed or stopped Tuesday night to avoid a collision ahead of him when he was hit from behind and thrown from his bike. Leary says the driver who hit the young man drove off without calling 911.

McCurdy was then struck by a truck. The truck driver did stop and call for help.

Leary says a trooper looking for the hit-and-run vehicle spotted a damaged Lincoln on a flatbed tow truck, pulled the truck over and matched the license plate.
