EVERETT, Wash. —

A Marysville man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for his role in the 2011 overdose death of a Marysville Getchell High School student.

The Daily Herald (http://is.gd/FqodfU) reports 23-year-old Darren Pevny was sentenced Monday in Snohomish County Superior Court to 27 months behind bars. That's the maximum allowed under state sentencing laws. Pevny pleaded guilty in July to second-degree manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Pevny provided a 17-year-old girl with oxymorphone, a highly addictive narcotic prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain.

Court documents say the girl overdosed in June 2011, on a combination of oxymorphone, cocaine, alcohol and a doctor-prescribed anti-depressant.
