TACOMA, Wash. —

The Pierce County prosecutor says a Key Peninsula woman hired a hit man for $10,000 to kill her daughter's husband because of a history of domestic violence.

On Monday Jacqueline Ray and Luis Barker were charged with murder in the shooting of Leon Bauchman, whose body was found July 12 in a ditch. His ankles and wrists were bound with tape and he was shot in the back.

Both Ray and Barker pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at $1 million for Ray and $3 million for Barker.
