A female inmate has been found dead inside her cell in the Spokane County Jail.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says the 30-year-old female was found unresponsive in the cell shortly after midnight Monday morning.

Efforts to revive the woman failed and she was pronounced dead in a local hospital.

The sheriff's office says the woman was alone in her cell and the death is not considered suspicious.

The identity of the inmate has not been released.
