A three-alarm fire is burning the Grandwood Furniture store in Lakewood near Mount Tahoma High School.
A firefighter with West Pierce Fire and Rescue says the fire was reported at 6:09 a.m. Tuesday and went to three alarms by 7:30 a.m. because of the amount of burning material.
The building was fully involved, forcing firefighters to remain outside to pour on water.
Nine engines, two ladder companies and support units with a total of about 50 firefighters are at the scene.
No injuries are reported.
Apartments on the top floor of the building were reportedly evacuated.
