YAKIMA, Wash. —

Police in Yakima, Wash., say two young men have been fatally shot near an on-ramp to U.S. Highway 12 and a third man has been arrested.

Lt. Mike Merryman identified the victims of the shooting late Monday afternoon as 18-year-old Jobany B. Martinez and a 17-year-old male.

Merryman says descriptions of possible suspects running from the scene were provided to a responding officer who found and detained those individuals as they were getting into a vehicle.

The juvenile victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The spokesman says witnesses led officers to the second victim, Martinez, who was dead at the scene.

Police arrested one of the four people detained by the first responding officer. Merryman says 19-year-old Lameiro Efren Flores was booked into jail for investigation in both deaths.
