Authorities have identified the man killed when the small plane he was piloting crashed in southeast Alaska on Thursday.
Alaska State Troopers say 56-year-old Kevin Murray of Chelan (CHEHL'-an), Wash., was the pilot and reported to be the lone occupant.
A Coast Guard spokesman has said the Piper Cherokee from Air Excursions LLC was reported overdue Thursday morning on a flight from Juneau to Gustavus. The wreckage was found later in the day, about 23 miles west of Juneau in the Tongass National Forest.
Weather hampered recovery efforts Friday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
