SEATTLE —

Three huge cranes have been delivered to a Port of Seattle terminal.

The 267-foot tall cranes were made in China by the ZPMC equipment company and delivered Wednesday by the heavy lift ship Zhenhua 23.

The cranes will be installed at Terminal 18, which is run by the SSA Marine subsidiary SSA Terminals.

The company says the new cranes and three similar ones delivered in December represent a $54 million investment.

Each crane has a lifting height of 146 feet and an outreach of 210 feet, allowing for 9-high containers above deck and a reach of 24 containers wide. The cranes can lift containers weighing up to 65 tons.
