Planes continue to search Wednesday for a small plane that disappeared Monday on a flight from Tonasket to Sequim (skwim).

Transportation Department spokeswoman Ann Briggs says there has been no sign of the plane and the search covers a broad area.

Pilot Ed Jeffko of Tonasket is the only person on board the single-engine plane, which was built from a kit.

The Wenatchee World reports Jeffko is a former Tonasket city councilman who has been active in the civil service board and economic development committee.
