President Barack Obama has departed from Portland.

The president's plane took off from shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, about 5 1/2 hours after he arrived.

Obama raised money and spoke to supporters at the Oregon Convention Center. He's headed for Seattle, where he's scheduled to raise more money on Wednesday.

In his speech, Obama slammed rival Mitt Romney's economic plan, saying the former Massachusetts governor would promote failed policies and cut taxes on the rich.
