OLYMPIA, Wash. —

TVW is calling on the campaign for Bob Ferguson, the Democratic candidate for Attorney General, to pull a YouTube ad that uses footage from the public affairs network's coverage of a debate.

TVW President and CEO Greg Lane says Ferguson is violating the terms of use for TVW, which specifically prohibits the use of its programming for political or commercial purposes.

Lane says that TVW has made "numerous requests" directly to Ferguson to have his campaign pull the video but that so far, he has refused. A phone message left with Ferguson on Tuesday was not immediately returned.

Ferguson is running to replace Attorney General Rob McKenna, who is running for governor. Ferguson faces Republicans Reagan Dunn and Stephen Pidgeon in the Aug. 7 primary.
