SEATTLE —

President Barack Obama heads next to New Orleans after two Seattle-area fundraisers and a visit to Portland, Ore.

The president is scheduled to fly out of Boeing Field on Wednesday morning.

Obama checked in to the Hilton Bellevue hotel in that suburb east of Seattle after two fundraising events Tuesday evening at the home of Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal.

No public events were included in Obama's brief Seattle-area stop.

In brief remarks Tuesday evening, the president praised Sinegal and Costco, which he called "the story of what America is all about." He went on to describe in broad terms his differences with Republican opponent Mitt Romney.

Earlier in the day, Obama visited with three middle-aged veterans who were among the lunchtime crowd at Portland's Gateway Breakfast House.
