An Amtrak spokeswoman says the lead engine of an Amtrak Cascades train traveling from Portland to Seattle derailed Wednesday evening near Woodland, Wash.

Danelle Hunter says none of the train's 86 passengers was hurt and the engine remained upright. Crew members were also uninjured.

She says bus transportation was being arranged for the passengers.

Also affected is a southbound Amtrak train that left Seattle at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday headed to Eugene, Ore. Hunter says that train was stopped in Centralia and Amtrak was working to secure buses for its passengers.

Hunter did not immediately know what caused the derailment or when the track would be cleared.
