SEATTLE —

The FBI says a man who robbed a bank in Washington state's Cascade foothills this month appears to be the same man who shot and wounded a police officer during an earlier holdup in California.

The bureau is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest. He has not been identified by law enforcement, but is known as the "AK-47 bandit" because he brandished an AK-style assault rifle with a drum magazine during the three robberies to which he's been linked.

The suspect shot an officer in Chino, Calif., east of Los Angeles, in February. He is also wanted for a March 12 robbery at the Bank of the West in Vacaville, Calif., and the July 6 robbery of a Chase branch in North Bend, Wash.
