SEATTLE —

The King County prosecutor's office won't file any charges against the mayor of Granite Falls, Wash., who was arrested at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport during a public argument with relatives.

Prosecutor's spokesman Dan Donohoe said Thursday there is insufficient evidence to charge Haroon Saleem.

He was arrested Monday night after port police responded to a dispute they say involved shouting and threats. The Everett Daily Herald says Saleem was arrested for investigation of domestic violence harassment.

He was at the airport to pick up his 13-year-old daughter, who was flying back from California with other relatives. Court papers say the relatives apparently had quarreled during the vacation and the argument continued at the airport. Saleem says he was only protecting his daughter.

The mayor says he's relieved the incident is over.
