Tens of thousands of dollars found in the remote mountain bunker of a man who killed his family in Washington state will be used to establish a scholarship in his daughter's memory.
Peter Keller shot and killed his wife Lynnettee (Lin-NET') and 18-year-old daughter Kaylene at their North Bend home in April, before retreating to a fortified bunker on Rattlesnake Ridge. He committed suicide as dozens of SWAT officers surrounded him.
Inside, investigators found tens of thousands of dollars. Lynnettee's family announced Thursday that they'll direct the money to a scholarship fund for women who attend DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond. They say Kaylene had hoped to study video game design there.
Detectives also released a video Peter Keller recorded of himself before the killings. He tells the camera that if he gets caught he'll shoot himself, but adds that at least "it won't be boring."
