Law enforcement officers in Spokane are searching for a naked man wanted in an early morning assault on a woman.

Police say the victim was taking a walk shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday when she reported a naked black male approached her, attempted to take her watch, threw her to the ground and partially dragged her down an embankment.

After a brief struggle, the victim was able to get away from the suspect.

The attack occurred on Spokane's lower South Hill and law officers are scouring the area.
