MOOSE, Wyo. —

Rangers rescued a 27-year-old man who became stranded on a Middle Teton Mountain cliff in Grand Teton National Park in northwest Wyoming.

The U.S. Park Service says Eric Rohner, of Olympia, Wash., got stuck while on a solo summit on Monday and was rescued by park rangers on Tuesday morning.

Rohner had called 911 around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

He was eventually rescued with the use of a helicopter that used a rope to get him off the steep rock face of the mountain and drop him off in an area where he could hike back.

It was the third major search and rescue from the Grand Tetons this summer.
