EVERETT, Wash. —

An inmate who collapsed at the Snohomish County Jail in Everett has died.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office says the 22-year-old man asked for medical attention about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday and collapsed to the floor.

The jail staff performed CPR and medics took him to a hospital where he died 20 minutes later.

Lynnwood police had booked the man into jail Monday night on an arrest warrant for possession of marijuana.

The medical examiner's office is investigating the cause of death.
