SPOKANE, Wash. —

Spokane police say a 73-year-old man working on repairs underneath a car was killed when the car started and dragged him about 150 feet.

Sgt. Jason Hartman says investigators determined that Albert Garcia's death was an accident.

Medics responding to an aid call Monday found the man pinned under a car and had to jack up the vehicle to free him. He was dead at the scene.

Hartman says the man was working in front of his home on the car's electrical system. The car had been left in gear with the keys in the ignition.
