A triathlete from Seattle has died after suffering a medical emergency during the swimming leg of the Ironman Coeur d'Alene last Sunday.
Kootenai County officials identified the man as 44-year-old Sean Murphy of Seattle.
Officials say Murphy was pulled from the water during the swimming phase of the event Sunday and was taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where he was kept on life support until he died Tuesday.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
