HILLSBORO, Ore. —

The Hillsboro City Council approved an agreement Tuesday evening to move the Yakima Bears baseball team to the city and finance a new stadium that would cost about $14 million.

The owners of the Class A team still need the approval of baseball officials to make the move.

The Oregonian reports ( http://is.gd/J4OTcI) council members put on baseball caps after the vote, and the crowd at City Hall sang "Take Me Out To the Ball Game" and ate hot dogs and Cracker Jacks.

The agreement calls for the team to pay $150,000 a year with a 3 percent annual increase over the 20-year rental period.

Hillsboro will be part of the new name for the team.
