A Cowlitz County jury has convicted a Kelso man for killing his brother-in-law.

The Daily News of Longview says ( http://bit.ly/L0Rc98) Sergey Fedoruk was accused of beating and strangling 48-year-old Serhiy Ishchenko Aug. 1 and then dumping his body in a small ravine behind the Kelso home the two men shared with other family members.

Fedoruk was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Fedoruk wrongly believed that Ishchenko raped one of his nieces and wanted revenge.
