A 2-year-old boy has drowned in Clear Lake southeast of Yelm.

Thurston County Sheriff's Sgt. Alvin Griffin says the boy was playing Saturday morning with his older brother and cousin when he wandered off.

He says the child's parents went looking for him. His mother found him in the lake and pulled him to the shore. Griffin says the parents are devastated.

Medics and others attempted to revive the child but weren't successful.
