An Edmonds police officer is accused of having sex on duty with a woman he detained for jaywalking.
Officer Daniel Lavely was arrested Thursday and jailed for investigation of custodial misconduct.
The Daily Herald reports ( http://is.gd/7XjuO5) Everett police investigated the May 6 incident involving a 28-year-old Seattle woman.
Everett police say Lavely released the woman after the jaywalking stop but contacted her again later, put her in his patrol car and drove to a remote location where they had sex.
The woman reported it a few days later, and Lavely was placed on paid leave. The 46-year-old is a seven-year veteran of the patrol division.
