A body was discovered Tuesday in a fire-damaged motor home parked outside a home in Normandy Park.

Fire crews and police were called to the 1900 block of Southwest 170th Street at 7:16 a.m. on the report of a vehicle fire, said Normandy Park interim Police Chief Chris Gaddis. Once the fire was out, the body was discovered on the floor between the back sleeping area and the front of the cab, Gaddis said.

A woman in her 70s and her cat had been living in the motor home since March; the woman cares for the residents of the home, Gaddis said.

The residents attempted to contact the woman, but the fire was too hot, he said.

The King County Medical Examiner is working to identify the body, and King County fire is investigating.
