A laundry room fire has destroyed a commons building at a Washington State University student housing complex.

KREM-TV reports the early morning fire on Tuesday destroyed the Community Center Building at the Nez Perce Apartments. No students are housed in the building and it was empty when the fire started.

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
