Nearly 160 people are gathered in Richland this weekend for a conference focused on Sasquatch.

The Tri-City Herald ( http://is.gd/UsfQuJ) reports the founder of the International Society for Primal People convened the meeting to share knowledge about Sasquatch sightings.

People have traveled to the conference from across the United States and as far away as Ontario, Canada.

Thom Cantrall of Kennewick says he has come "face to face" with the creature some call "Big Foot" a number of times across the Pacific Northwest.

A Sasquatch expert from Idaho State University is among the speakers at the conference. Jeff Meldrum, author of "Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science," is an anatomy and anthropology professor at Idaho State. His theory is that Sasquatch is a large primate that only resembles humans because it walks on two legs.
