Clark County prosecutors say they won't file charges against a La Center homeowner who was involved in the fatal shooting of a trespasser.
The Columbian newspaper reports ( http://is.gd/VIrWKK) that in a letter to detectives, the prosecutor's office wrote that the shooting appeared accidental.
Homeowner Leland Larsen confronted the trespasser, Barry Parnell, with a shotgun the night of Jan. 24. After Larsen ordered him to get on the ground, Parnell grabbed the barrel of the gun and pressed it to his own chest - and since Larsen's finger was on the trigger, the gun went off.
