DENVER —

Marijuana legalization for recreational use will be on Colorado ballots this fall.

The Colorado Secretary of State has cleared a legalization initiative, making Colorado the second state after Washington with a legalization question on fall ballots.

Colorado voters will be asked whether pot should be legal for adults over 21 even without a doctor's recommendation.

Legalization supports in Colorado were given additional time to collect signatures because too many signatures were deemed invalid. The initiative was given a second, smaller window to produce additional signatures.

Colorado voters rejected a legalization measure in 2006. California voters rejected legalization in 2010.
