A mallard joins a trumpeter swan and a snow goose feeding in a muddy field on Fir Island in the Skagit Valley. The birds are wintering here, and they draw the bird watchers, so Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25 and 26, is the seventh annual Port Susan Snow Goose and Birding Festival, with tours, speakers, art, food, music and more.
