Some craft distilleries say they've been left in limbo by the initiative Washington voters approved to take the state out of the liquor business.
The owners of Skip Rock Distillery in Snohomish told The Daily Herald the state stopped buying their potato vodka even before Initiative 1183 was approved in November. Small distillers were supposed to be allowed to market their liquor to retailers beginning this month, but that's been pushed back to at March.
The state Liquor Control Board and Department of Revenue are working on the rules for private liquor stores when state liquor stores close next summer.
Craft distilleries want people to ask bartenders for local spirits and to ask liquor store managers for craft products.
