SEATTLE —

A 19-year-old convicted of killing a Seattle convenience store clerk during a robbery faces at least 27 years in prison when he is sentenced in King County Superior Court.

The jury returned the verdict Monday against Elijah S. Hall. He was convicted of murder in the July 2009 shooting of the clerk, Manish Melwani, at the Pit Stop Express in the Ballard neighborhood.

Hall had earlier pleaded guilty but withdrew the plea under the advice of new lawyers.
