Fire officials say nearly 650 firefighters are battling a wildfire in the tinder-dry forests near Washington state's Satus Pass.
Fire incident spokesman Dale Warriner says the fire is holding at about 4,200 acres with crews containing about 20 percent of it. Crews will spend Saturday protecting structures and working on containment.
The blaze has burned 64 buildings. Officials can confirm nine of those structures are homes.
Klickitat County Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Kaley says 200 homes are evacuated, but some residents may be allowed to return home today.
The weather is forecast to continue to be dry and hot over the weekend.
The fire started Wednesday along U.S. Highway 97 across the street from a Greek Orthodox monastery. The highway was reopened Saturday.
